Managing five screens is easy. Managing five hundred requires a different set of tools. Citadel’s Bulk Actions feature allows you to update your entire network in seconds, rather than hours.
Whether you need to tag a new batch of devices, deploy a holiday channel to 50 locations, or correct a mistake, the Bulk Actions system is your "Mission Control."
Bulk Management Overview
1. Understanding the Hierarchy
To use Bulk Actions effectively, it helps to understand the "flow" of Citadel’s structure. Bulk options change depending on which page you are on, because the hierarchy moves in one direction:
Assets (Content) ➔ go into Playlists
Playlists ➔ go into Channels
Channels ➔ go onto Screens
Note: Tags are universal. You can apply tags in bulk to items at any level of this hierarchy.
2. How to Trigger a Bulk Action
The process is consistent across the entire platform (Screens, Channels, Playlists, or Files pages):
Select: Click the checkboxes on the left side of the list to select multiple items. To select everything on the page, click the master checkbox at the very top.
Initiate: Once items are selected, the Bulk Actions menu (or button) will become active.
Execute: Choose your action (e.g., "Add Channel," "Add Tags").
3. The Queue & The "Undo" Safety Net
Unlike immediate changes, Bulk Actions are powerful commands that are sent to a processing Queue. This system offers transparency and a critical safety net.
Processing: When you launch an action, it enters the Queue. You can continue working elsewhere while the system processes your request in the background.
Visibility: You can view the status of any bulk job in the Queue. Upon completion, the system provides detailed notes on what was changed.
The Undo Button: Made a mistake? Don’t worry. Because actions are tracked in the Queue, you can Undo a bulk action at any time, instantly reverting the changes across all affected items.
Common Use Cases

Action:
Go to the Screens page.
Select the 20 new screens.
Select Bulk Action > Assign Channel.
Choose your "West Coast Corporate Loop" channel.
Result: All 20 screens immediately begin downloading and playing that specific channel.
Scenario B: The "Rapid Organization" (Tagging)
Goal: You have uploaded 50 new video assets for a "Winter Sale" and need to tag them so you can report on their playback easily
Action:
Go to the Files/Assets page.
Select all 50 new videos.
Select Bulk Action > Add Tags.
Type "Winter2024" and hit enter.
Result: Every video is now tagged and instantly pulled into any report looking for that tag.
Scenario C: The "Oops!" Moment (Undo)
Goal: You accidentally added the "Lunch Menu" playlist to the "Gym TVs" channel.
Action:
Go to the Bulk Actions (Queue) tab.
Locate the recent "Add Playlist" action.
